Americano

Americano or Espresso Americano is espresso diluted with water.

Americano was born when Americans visiting Italy felt that regular espresso was too strong for their liking and baristas started adding water for milder taste.

In order to make an Americano water is added to the espresso rather than making longer espressos with an espresso machine. Americano is prepared by adding 100 - 150 ml of hot water to a single espresso shot. This method is considered best as it does not extract too more coffee. America is traditionally served from a cappuccino cup.
